Parisa Privacy Policy
Overview
Parisa is a navigation and driving companion operated by IT MOM LLC. It combines routing with an assistant named Amara and optional information such as weather, news, nearby places, facts, trivia, and radio. This policy explains how Parisa handles information when you use the mobile app, website, and related support services.
Information We Collect and Process
- Account and profile information: Firebase user identifier, email address, display name, sign-in provider, email-verification status, and whether an account is anonymous. Parisa also stores preferences such as content, mood, voice, radio, and drive-mode choices.
- Location and trip information: With device permission, Parisa processes precise device location. Search terms, origins, destinations, route geometry, route instructions, distance, duration, trip status, and nearby-place requests may be processed. Trip records may include origin and destination names and coordinates.
- Amara and content information: Messages you send to Amara, responses, mood and trip context, selected recommendations, and playback status may be processed and stored. Text may be sent for AI response generation or text-to-speech. The current app uses generated or device speech; the repository does not implement recording or storage of microphone voice input.
- Radio information: Station searches, region, chosen station identifier, playback events, and radio preferences may be processed. A selected station's streaming provider receives the network information ordinarily needed to deliver its stream.
- Diagnostics and security information: Request and event identifiers, timestamps, app and device details, authentication audit events, feature outcomes, performance data, and crash or error information. Parisa's Sentry integration removes known credential and precise-location fields from diagnostic context before reporting it.
- Support communications: Information you include when you contact support, such as your contact address, account identifier, device details, screenshots, and message.
How We Use Information
We use information to authenticate accounts; provide maps, routes, navigation, trip history, nearby places, weather, news, radio, and Amara features; remember preferences; generate and play spoken content; keep navigation and optional audio coordinated; diagnose failures; protect accounts and services; answer support requests; and improve reliability and safety.
Service Providers and Sharing
Parisa shares information only as needed to operate features, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transfer. Depending on the feature and deployment configuration, providers include:
- Google and Firebase: authentication, app configuration and updates, cloud hosting, database infrastructure, and Android map display. Apple Maps may display maps on iOS.
- OpenRouteService: destination search, routing, and nearby-place lookup. Relevant search text and coordinates are sent through Parisa's backend.
- National Weather Service and news providers: location context needed to return current conditions or relevant headlines.
- OpenAI or Parisa-hosted Amara services: when enabled, relevant text and trip context may be processed to create assistant responses or speech. Parisa also supports locally hosted text-to-speech providers.
- Sentry: error, crash, and performance reporting when configured.
- Radio Browser and radio stream operators: station discovery and audio streaming.
Parisa does not currently contain advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information. It does not use a separate consumer advertising or behavioral analytics service in the audited code.
Website Data
The public Parisa website does not set application cookies, use browser local storage, provide user accounts, or run an analytics or advertising script. Firebase Hosting and network providers may process standard request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver and secure the site.
Data Retention
Parisa does not publish fixed retention periods. Information is retained for as long as it is needed to provide the service, maintain security and operational records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Cached weather, nearby, news, and generated-audio content may expire sooner than account and trip records.
Your Choices and Deletion
You can deny or revoke location permission in device settings, change available preferences in the app, sign out, or delete your account from Parisa's account settings. Account deletion removes the Firebase Authentication account and clears direct identifiers from the Parisa profile. Some de-identified, security, diagnostic, transaction, or legally required records may remain. For help or a request concerning other personal information, follow the steps on the account deletion page or email support@parisa.app.
Security
Parisa uses authentication and authorization checks, encrypted network connections, restricted service credentials, and privacy-focused diagnostic filtering. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, altered, or lost.
Children's Privacy
Parisa is a driving-focused service and is not directed to children. If you believe a child provided personal information through Parisa, contact us so we can review and address the situation.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Parisa changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
